LG officially stops production of mobile phones: Apple grabs stock LG users

After announcing the closure of the smartphone business in early April, media reports said that the LG factory has stopped production of smartphones and tablets starting today, and announced its withdrawal.

However, LG promises to continue to provide software update services for some models, including the promised Android 11 update, and even a few models will have the opportunity to iterate to Android 12 or even Android 13.

It is reported that LG’s largest mobile phone factory in Haiphong, Vietnam has switched to producing home appliances, and the workers will be diverted before the end of July. In fact, LG Electronics is expected to achieve home appliance sales of US$6.3 billion in the second quarter, surpassing Whirlpool as the world’s No. 1 home appliance manufacturer.

For the existing LG users, Apple even offered an olive branch. The new iPhone 12/12 mini preferential policy is that the old 4G/5G mobile phone can be exchanged for a discount of 150,000 won (about 861 yuan).

In addition, not long ago, 3,000 LG Velvet 2 Pro (V70) were put into production on a small scale and sold to internal employees at a price of less than 1,100 yuan. The running score shows that the machine is equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor.
